about

“It’s Alright” invites to go beyond, to completely accept and own fate. I had to learn, I had to work on myself, I had to start with my soul. The track is a collaboration with Strange Boy, an amazingly talented 19 year old rapper from Limerick, who’s adding a very special energy to it.

lyrics

Lyrics

There’s only one way to take it and that’s hard, man
There’s only one way to own it
she wanna drown in the city lights
but it’s alright

If she wanna make a mistake
You better let her man
You’ve gotta learn what it takes
to keep a good thing from going bad
at least she’s taking action
you’re always procrastinating
so she’s packing

Chorus
and it’s alright

Message from my friend Paul:
“Let someone go make their mistake if there is a mistake to be made, and in that there will actually be growth.”

If you want power over yourself
you gotta start with the work
if you want power over the world
You gotta start with your soul
If you want power over any piece
You gotta start with the whole
And if you want any peace
you better start real soon

It’s alright (if you do it)
It’s alright (if you don’t)
It’s alright (if you do it)
It’s alright (if you don’t)
It’s alright (if you do it)
It’s alright (if you don’t)

Strange Boy:
I met a man who had a look of regret
he told me about his plan to be the greatest on earth
He said that he never had no empathy for the man
who couldn’t stick to his word and he was gonna be damned if he didn’t stick to his
and he claimed he would pull through
Strategising every single move like he was Sun Tzu
Had to keep up every expectation for the crowd too
He would never drop below his standard
He was standing on that pedestal Tryna balance
Daedalus telling Icarus not to elevate above the limit with them delicate wings
or you crash and burn
You just sound like a pessimist
You just doubting my ability to walk in the clouds
Can put the boundaries aside
It’s not arrogance or defiance
It’s confidence at its finest
The quality That you lack
And you probably in denial
you shy away from a challenge as soon as it becomes social
You must be kind of callous
Dedicated to contemplation, you analyse, plot and plan
You need validation!

Waiting for perfection conditions just to prove your worth
Thirsty hungry God ambition
but no it’s not enough, no no it’s not enough
It’s alright even if you get it all wrong
Temptation of perfection leads to failure but
It was telling me to stay in touch with reality
Found out what real life was
Looking out from this fantasy

Cos You can take back the earth
but you can’t erase the meaning
You can’t take back the urge
if you can’t embrace the feeling
You can fall
You can fall
You can fall
